EL/MS/INT: Istation ISIP: New Export 02/20/17

New ISIP™ Reports Feature
ISIP reports now feature a “View as CSV” option. Selecting this button will generate a new CSV file containing a CSV conversion of the report’s grid/table.

This differs from the “Export Details” option in that it provides a direct conversion of the grid/table; whereas “Export Details” contains the base-level data used to create the grid/table (often a summary of the base-level data).
“Export Details” is still the place to go for all student data. However, to capture the summarized details shown on the report page, use the “View as CSV” button.
Reports with this feature include:
  • ISIP Summary
  • ISIP Skill Growth
  • ISIP Skill Growth by Tier
  • ISIP Tier Movement
  • Assessment Completion
  • Lexile Trend

ALL: Windows 10 DVD Doesn't Play? 02/03/17

Dilemma:
Do you have a new teacher or even a personal computer with Windows 10?
When you try to play a DVD, it doesn't play?

Here's why?
Microsoft removed the license to play DVDs when they released Windows 8 and 10. There is a licensing cost to play DVDs, and Microsoft decided not to charge everyone to play DVDs when fewer users were playing DVDs each year. So, they decided to make that an add-on.

What can you do to play a DVD on a Windows 10 computer?
Here are two options:

  1. Purchase the add-on at approximately $15 per computer
  2. Use a free open-source version of the add-on that can be downloaded at this website: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Thanks to Mike Marler for this information!
