Promethean Board Disconnect Tip 11/14

Promethean Board Loses Connection After Power Surge!  What do I do?

There seems to be a rash of Promethean Boards losing connection with the computer, resulting in the pen not working properly.

We have found that this occurs (oftentimes) after a thunderstorm or some other situation that created a power surge in the building.

If this is the case on your campus, try simply unplugging and replugging the Promethean power supply.  The power supply looks like a black rectangle with the Promethean logo on it.  There is generally a beige cable connected to a black thin cable on the power supply.  If this is successful, you should hear 3 chimes from the Promethean Board and a "double thump" sound from the computer.  And, on the computer task tray at the bottom right, a window will display indicating the ActivManager has found the device.

Try this unplug/replug troubleshooting tip, and it just might do the trick!

If not, you may need to work your way through these other steps to re-establish the connection:
