Problem:
You try to calibrate your Promethean Board, but it won't work. Or maybe your ActivManager icon at the bottom right on the Task Bar isn't visible or has a Red X on it. (It's the white square that usually has the orange "John Travolta" looking Promethean man on it.)
Possible Solutions:
This probably means that your ActivDriver (software that allows your board to "communicate" with your computer) needs updating or installing. Why would it not be there? Maybe your computer is new and the driver was never installed. Or maybe your computer was recently reimaged (wiped clean) and the driver was not reinstalled. And sometimes a power surge in the building can create this issue (caused by thunderstorm, squirrel running across power lines (kidding), etc.)
What to do? Try one of these options:
- Call Help Desk at x-70260
- Contact your Campus Technology Liaison
- Call the Innovation and Development Department (formerly known as Instructional Technology) at x-78108
Be sure to tell them if you think there was a power surge, if your computer has recently been serviced, and/or if you have a new computer.
